A Monumentous Occasion
Even after 175 years, ManhattanLife is still there for the everyday American. So when this big birthday came around, they decided a 22-story video ad in the most crowded spot in Manhattan might do the trick. Throw in a full color spot in The Wall Street Journal in tandem and now you've garnered some attention. After multiple rounds of ideation and concepts, we decided on a running timeline of iconic moments tied to Manhattan and beyonds, just to remind us all that ManhattanLife has been there, and done that.
Much of what we did in tandem with the anniversary had very much to do with brand growth and transformation. After many years of a somewhat stagnant and complacent visual identity, it was time to freshen things up. Why not use AI generation to our advantage, create interactive digital experiences and above all, expand the breadth and reach of the awe-inspiring handpainted mark and what it means for the future?
